I have connected with Mary in Wyoming (of all places!)

She and I have both lived in Texas. Miss those bluebonnets in the spring, the Tex-Mex food, and of course, Bluebell ice cream!

Location of the 2008 Battle of the Books

Things are HOT here on Long Island today. But that is in every sense of the word. I’ve been busy getting ready for our Twelfth Annual Battle of the Books, to be held at Stony Brook University on August 16. The finals will be at Islandia Marriott on August 18.

I’m also very involved with our Second Annual Graphic Novel Symposium to be held at the Bourne Mansion on September. I’m pretty excited right now. The Bloomsbury rep just offered 150 free galleys of Shannon Hale’s first graphic novel Rapunzel’s Revenge for our attendees.
